Write My Essay For Me

Op – Ed Assignment

Before beginning, make sure to read the “How to Write an Op-Ed. . .” and “Trump Calls Omarosa Manigault Newman ‘That Dog’ in His Latest Insult,” which are attached in BlackBoard.

After reading Shear and Sullivan’s article, write an Op – Ed (opinion piece) in response. Your ultimate goal should be to submit your Op-Ed to the New York Times and have it published online.

Please make sure to:
• identify the audience (you are responding to an online article in the New York Times, your audience would be large and varied)
• create an original title followed by full name.
o Example:
My Original Title Goes Should be Centered at the Top of the Page
Mary Jane Jones Smith

• create a timely, news worthy hook (if it is not timely, it will not be published)
• have one valid source (used wisely and well-but does not speak for you!)
• make one, clear, persuasive point
• create short paragraphs
• not to use jargon or slang
• humanize your argument (Pathos)
• make a specific recommendation
• create a well stated argument that gets to the point quickly
• end with either a bang or a call to action
• include the word count total (that does not include the heading or the header) – the word count is 600 to 750 words
• include a MLA Works Cited page

Your op-ed piece will be graded according to the following rubric:

1. The point: does your opinion piece have a point that is clearly expressed?
2. Persuasive: does your up and persuade the reader?
3. Hook and structure: does your Op-Ed engage the reader right at the beginning? Is there actual evidence of thoughtful organization? Did you summarize the main point at the end?
4. writing and clarity: is a piece readily understandable to non-academic readers? In other words, can any literate person understand your op-ed?
5. Tone: is your op-ed polite and respectful? Is a focus on persuading the reader rather than voicing your indignation or condemnation?

Additionally, make sure you can identify the following in your Op-Ed:
• Logos: how can you make your argument consistent and logical? How can you find the best reasons to support your argument? Are you using the best evidence to support your point?
• Pathos: how can you make the reader more open to your message? How can you best appeal to your readers values and interests? How can I gauge my reader emotionally and imaginatively? – Humanization!
• Ethos: how can you best present yourself in an effective manner? How can you enhance your credibility and your trustworthiness? Tone = polite +respectful + one point well made.

The Op-Ed assignment is due Friday by 11:59 PM
